Jakarta - Teacher professional allowance in the Collaborative Education Unit (SPK) is stopped or deleted after the issuance of Ministry of Education and Culture Secretariat Regulation Number 6 Year 2020. The government should return the professional allowance because it is in accordance with Law Number 14 of 2006 concerning Teachers and Lecturers.
"This regulation makes teachers restless in SPK. We must return it according to the mandate of Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers," Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Commission X Abdul Fikri Faqih said in a press statement on Tuesday (7/21/2020) ).
As a former teacher, Fikri can feel the anxiety experienced by affected teachers if this policy is implemented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture. According to him, the professional allowance for teachers is the right of all teachers who have obtained professional certificates in accordance with the mandate of the Teacher and Lecturer Law.
"If all the requirements have been fulfilled, and there is no legal reason that supports the elimination of the professional allowance for SPK teachers, in my opinion this policy is not beautiful. If the obligations have been fulfilled, the teacher's rights must continue to be granted. Don't discriminate," said this PKS politician.
